A Renovo Smoothie Your Kids Will Love!

    End to your kids loading up on growth-impairing sugary juices and sodas by making your own fresh smoothies at home. Meeting the need for energy and nutrients is essential for good health. Children who do not get all their nutrition, and ingest an overload of sugar, will be overweight and have their normal growth and development hindered.

Many parents don't realize the important role that beverages play. For example, supplying fruit flavored drinks and soft drinks are not a substitute for real fruit and a majority of these drinks only contain 10% real fruit juice, the rest is sugar and other toxically artificial ingredients.

Smoothies are an easily absorbable means of nutrition. However, a smoothie is only as healthy and delicious as the ingredients you put into it. Smoothies should contain the whole fruit, not just the juice, because it is the fibrous matter of the fruit which are good sources for the required dietary intake of fiber. Also, only use low-glycemic natural agave to sweeten when necessary, nutrient-rich superfood powders and organic fruits and veggies whenever possible. Of course, the only thing that matters to kids is that smoothies taste great, so get inventive because the fun and exciting flavor creations you can blend together are boundless!

Time: Start to finish 5 minutes
For convenience, wash, cut and freeze fresh fruits such as melons, cherries and berries when they are in season so you have them on hand when smoothie inspiration hits. Peeled and cut tropical fruits, such as bananas, pineapples and mangoes, also are great ingredients to keep in the freezer. For greater convenience, use store-bought frozen fruits, such as berries, cherries and peaches. These usually are an excellent value, come in organic varieties and are good consistency for blending into smoothies.

STRAWBERRY SOOTHER

  1. In blender, place:
    • 2/3 cup frozen strawberries
    • 1 frozen banana
    • ½ cup organic apple juice
    • 1/3 cup organic soymilk
    • 1 tbsp. organic agave
  2. Blend on high until smooth.
